Veyseloglu Group of Companies in ADA University

Yesterday, on February 20, there was a very informative talk by Aydın Talıbov at ADA University organized by “Senior Talks”. Aydın Talıbov is the CEO of Veysəloğlu Group. During his talk, he shared with us, ADA students, how he started this company with just $300 and eventually grew it into a $2 billion business.
During the meeting, Mr. Aydın mostly talked about how he started this journey, the difficulties he faced, what he did to deal with those challenges, how he treats his team, his role in the company, how he brought Araz markets to their current state, and more. But for us young people, the most important part was the short pieces of advice he gave. These were some of the ones I liked the most:
- “Look at what God created you to be, find it, and fight for it.” Mr. Aydın used this phrase several times. He noted that if you were created to be a CEO, then follow that path; if you were created to be an HR, then follow that path, and so on.
- “A man should master one craft well; the one who leans toward many remains incomplete.” This phrase was mentioned around 4–5 times during the meeting. When I really thought about its meaning, I realized how deep it actually is. He also mentioned, “Back then I had to choose one craft. I chose the craft of chocolate.” My question actually came from this phrase.
My question was: “You said it’s good to learn one craft. But does learning that one craft start after you gain certain resources, or does it start from the very beginning?”
In his answer he said, “In life you should always try to find which craft you truly belong to, and keep searching until you find it. I studied at the Construction Institute and later worked in that field, but eventually I found myself somewhere else.” This answer really satisfied me. During the talk he even asked me, “Do you have your own business?”
