First Day in WUF13 – Agriculture Findings

I attended WUF13’s first day today. Actually, it was second, but first for us. My passion to be here was to seek out new people, projects, or any kind of new info about agriculture. So now, I’ll share with you what I found beneficial, and some other things that I loved.

Before all, I made a mistake. There were lots of events in the stadium, though, I thought only Expo Centre works today. So, I almost walked around the whole big center 4-5 times. If you ask whether I regret not knowing, I’d say no. Bacause, every time I walked around the center, I saw new stands, new country areas, and much more. There were things that I loved a lot, i’ll talk about them in a min, but now, agriculture.

Firstly, Mexico got my interest a lot! They’d got real (ig) vegetables on the soil to simulate agriculture. I liked it.

Then, I was a looking to find new events. However, when I almost lost all my interest, I saw an event. It was about agriculture, and it was like in a tea shop, but without tea. There were 5 speakers, speaking about what they do. One of them was a woman teaching college students agriculture technologies, like apps, drones, etc.. Another one was the chairperson of Azerbaijan Rural Women’s Association, Gulbaniz Ganbarova. Then, a woman was talking about a business, named Digital Umbrella. I also liked that one.

When I was listening, sitting in the back, in a room filled with women, mr Alı approached me. He was interested why I’m so interested in listening to this event, while there were almost no one like me (my age, gender). We talked and he was happy to see me, being interested in agriculture.

After the event, I saw Turkiye’s area. It was filled with lots of people, so I did not spend much time there. However, there was a man writing people’s names in calligraphy.

Then, I wanted to check out other more things. After walking a bit, I saw one of the most interesting, biggest, and cheerful (I think) area of the center. Men in the same clothes, when you enter everyone greets you with cheer, every point of the area smells perfectly, filled with fragrance. In one side, offering traditional coffee with date, in another side giving information about their projects.

At the end, (when I want for almost 4th or 5th time) I listened to one of the best speakers I’ve even seen. To be honest, I did not listen to what he said deeply, because I wasn’t interested in the topic that much. However, I was so amazed by his fluent English, and the way he speaks (I was too focused that I forgot to take a normal photo). Also, I took a great lesson from this speaker. When he started speaking, there were around 5-6 people, all their own people. After some time, because he spoke so engaging, the area was filled with other people. However, the thing that got my intention was that he was speaking in the same tone, when there were almost no one, and when the area was filled. He did not change his attitudes based on the number of people.

And this country was Saudi Arabia.

At the end, I’d like to have news about stadium area. But I learned about it after leaving WUF. So, tomorrow, again, inshallah!
